Kimberly Dixon-mays, Phd
Kimberly has developed consumer insights and creative strategies while at advertising agencies DDB (Chicago and Amsterdam) and Leo Burnett (Chicago), and design firm Webb deVlam (Chicago). Her clients have spanned categories including financial services, personal electronics, fashion retail, fast food, medical equipment, and consumer packaged goods.
Kimberly has also served as an Executive Director (artist programming and operations) for literary presenter Guild Literary Complex (Chicago). In addition, she has helped several other arts organizations develop audience insights and strategies as a consultant and volunteer.
Whether in a nonprofit or for-profit context, Kimberly is committed to using insight and strategy to foster positive organizational, program and audience development.
Kimberly is a scholar of psychology, identity studies and the arts. She earned her B.A. in Psychology/Theater Studies from Yale University, her M.A. in Afro-American Studies (playwriting concentration) from UCLA, and her Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Theatre & Drama (Women’s Studies concentration) from Northwestern University. Kimberly is also a performer and published poet.
Always curious, she loves to travel, learn new dances, and try new foods – ideally all on the same trip.
